SITE-BLAUVELT's New York Regional Office located in New York, NY is pleased to announce its receipt of the following new project award(s):

Where and When Emergency Repairs, New York County, NY - In December 2005, SITE-BLAUVELT Engineers was designated for award of a contract by the New York State Dept. of Transportation (NYSDOT) to provide Resident Engineering Inspection Services during the completion of various emergency repair projects along the Route 9A corridor between West Thames Street and 59th Street. Projects that have been identified for completion include the Vesey Street Pedestrian Bridge Deconstruction, Rector Street Pedestrian Bridge structural maintenance, pavement repairs between West Thames and West 59th Streets, temporary street modifications at the World Trade Center site, and various other improvements within the corridor that include bollard installation and replacement of missing cobble stones. The estimated total construction cost is $20 million, with some work expected to commence in spring 2006.

Term Agreement for Highway Pavement testing & Analyses in the New York & Albany Divisions - In August 2005, the NYS Thruway Authority designated SITE-BLAUVELT Engineers to provide term services for highway pavement testing and analyses for two years in the Albany and New York Divisions. The purpose of this contract is to help programmatically in the identification of need, alternatives, scope and costs. The information will then be used to progress designs for future highway resurfacing / rehabilitation / reconstruction contracts. Included in the contract are field investigations and testing (including subsurface exploration and sample analysis, and obtaining and testing of asphalt and concrete cores); completion of a 20-year pavement treatment plan and alternative life cycle cost analyses; and provision of a report for each highway segment that will have some similar elements that are found in NYSDOT's pavement evaluation report.
