Laboratory Services

SITE-BLAUVELT Engineers maintains a modern, in-house soil-mechanics and concrete testing laboratory that is fully-equipped to determine the physical and structural properties of soils, and assess the strength limits of concrete, mortar and rock samples. Serving the testing needs of SITE-BLAUVELT's own in-house staff as well as the demands of outside consulting firms, this facility offers the capability to perform the following tests:
  • Physical characteristics and identification
  • One dimensional consolidation
  • Unconfined and triaxial compression
  • Direct shear
  • Point load testing of rock samples
  • Flex-wall permeability
  • California Bearing Ratio (CBR)
  • Compressive strength of concrete, grout and mortar
  • Moisture-density relationships
  • Slake durability
By virtue of a proficiency inspection conducted by the AASHTO Materials Reference Laboratory (AMRL), this facility has been accredited for the performance of all tests in compliance with methods established by both the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) and the American Society for Testing and Materials.
