Replacement of Pennsylvania Turnpike Bridge No. WB-112, Lawrence County, PA

As the Designer-of-Record for this design-build project on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, SITE-BLAUVELT Engineers prepared the design and construction plans for a 53-meter long, two-span prestressed concrete adjacent box beam bridge that carries State Route 168 over the Pennsylvania Turnpike at Mile Post 7.23. As a result of SITE-BLAUVELT's design innovations, the design-build team was able to propose a lower cost, prestressed concrete bridge that was the only prestressed concrete bridge proposed among the bidders. The subsequent design of this structure was successfully completed under a very aggressive design schedule that was prescribed for the project.

During construction, SITE-BLAUVELT was additionally responsible for the performance of all quality assurance/quality control work including constructibility reviews, materials and work inspection (demolition, substructure and superstructure construction, drainage, earthwork, pavement markings, bituminous paving, and Maintenance and Protection of Traffic), pay estimates, and fieldwork documentation.
